A couple of days ago, my friend and I were bored and decided to take a drive down to Watch Hill to ride around, window shop and walk along the docks. I wanted to go for a ride on the carousel, but it was much smaller than I remembered, and there was a sign that read “for children only” so I decided to pass. Nevertheless, it was fun to walk around and laugh at all the tourists that bothered visit Watch Hill, a location so accessible to us all year round. Because it was such a warm, sunny day, I decided to wear what I like to call my mermaid dress.
I am absolutely in love with this dress from Vineyard Vines. When I first picked it up, I thought it was a maxi skirt, and when I tried it on and realized it was a dress, I was a little skeptical about its tube top and odd long body. However, once I got it tied (the ties have the cutest tassel detailing), I was hooked. It was so light and flowy, blowing in the wind; it actually made me feel like a mermaid! The print reminded me of a tail, especially the way the bottom flicked and flowed when the ocean breeze kicked up. The top fit very well and I didn’t have to pull the dress up once, which surprised me since this is hardly the case when it comes to strapless dresses.
