Oh Christmas Tree

We finally got our tree! It’s a little short and slightly scrawny, but with lights and ornaments on, it will be perfect. Every year, we go to the same place to get our tree. Ironically, it’s not a Christmas tree farm, but a man’s backyard. We would rather find a natural looking tree with character while supporting someone local than spending an obscene amount of money on an expertly pruned tree that would just shed and prick us more. We always end up with the cutest trees! This year was the first in a while that snow has been on the ground when we went to get our tree. When I was younger, there was almost always snow but through my high school and earliest college years, Decembers were warm and balmy. While I just want the snow to melt already, cutting down a snow-covered tree dripping with icicles was a refreshing change and made it feel even more like Christmas.
