Cherry Blossom Bows

I’m not sure if it’s actually shorts weather yet, but that didn’t stop me from wearing some this week when I went for a walk to see the cherry blossoms. Originally, I thought it would be cold, so I wore a winter coat with my shorts (I probably looked ridiculous as some of the tourists) but ended up taking it off and putting it in my tote, it was so warm! I hate how crowded DC is this time of year. All winter, I get spoiled when it comes to my walks. No matter what time of day or night, there are no crowds and if you go out late enough, not a single person will be around. Unfortunately, warmer weather means those days are gone for now. The tidal basin was super crowded as is everywhere else in this city. I’m currently on the market for a new destination to walk to every night, preferably a tourist free one… hopefully I find it!

My entire outfit on this particular day with the exception of the shoes was from J.Crew Factory. They’re killing it this season, even more that J.Crew itself. Last summer, J.Crew sold out of these exact shorts before I could order them but fortunately, they came back for less than half of the price this spring and I got them! They’re very high waisted, comfortable and adorable thanks to the pink color and the bow tie on the front. While I’d typically wear it with something short sleeved, the cooler weather had me reaching for a thicker striped t-shirt with polka dotted tulle bell sleeves. White heels pulled the whole look together and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. While the shorts were a tad see through when I tucked my top in and I was a bit unsure of my outfit even after leaving my room, I love it looks and can’t wait for another warm day to repeat it!
